Playing around the London indie clubs, such as The Timebox at the Bull & Gate, they secured a deal with Big Cat who released their first EP, Don't Go Back, in August 1988. The EP earned them Single of the Week in Melody Maker and a John Peel session, broadcast on 21 September 1988.
